This introductory module looks at the main features of the course, including its learning plan, aims, objectives, and structure.

Students receive a syllabus, diagram pack, glossary, and further reading and links document with URLs for downloading copies of essential MoR publications.

The module also addresses many of the most frequently asked questions surrounding MoR.

Module 1: Introduction to MoR

This module provides an overview of the MoR framework as well as the actions involved in its implementation.

The module goes on to address the benefits of risk management before describing the four MoR perspectives and risk specialisms and how they are used.

Module 2: The MoR Perspectives

This module describes the four MoR Perspectives and the roles and responsibilities related to them. It then examines Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and the Central Risk Function.

Module 3: The MoR Principles

This module examines the eight MoR Principles, along with their purposes and outcomes. It also describes the techniques and tools used to identify contexts and engage with stakeholders.

Module 4: The MoR Approach

This module describes how to develop an approach to risk management. It also outlines what documents are required to do so.

Module 5: Memory Game

This module features a memory game that reviews the key terms related to MoR’s Principles, Perspectives, and Approach.

Module 6: The MoR Process Part 1

This module starts with an explanation of the four process steps of MoR. It explores the ‘Identify’ step and describes several related tools and techniques.

Module 7: The MoR Process Part 2

This module looks at the Assess, Plan, and Implement steps, as well as several tools and techniques associated with them. It also describes options for risk response and contingency planning.

Module 8: Embedding and reviewing MoR

This module explores how to embed and review the MoR framework using a risk management health check and maturity model. It then explains how to measure value and overcome barriers in risk management.

Module 9: Memory Game

This module features a memory game on the MoR process, as well as how to embed and review MoR.

Module 10: MoR Foundation Wrap Up

This module provides a summary of all the key points covered in the course.

This module provides an overview of the course, including its learning plan, objectives, structure, and main features. Additionally, this module addresses common questions about the MoR Practitioner course.

Module 1: Foundation Recap 1

Revisit the Perspectives, Approach, and Principles of MoR. This module helps students understand how to measure the value of MoR and covers supporting documents such as the Issue Register.

Module 2: Foundation Recap 2

This module revisits the MoR Process, detailing how to embed and review MoR within an organisation. It also expands on the tools and techniques of the framework, explaining their use at different steps within the Process.

Module 3: MoR Practitioner Scenario Introduction

Establish a scenario-based practice in this module, providing guidance on the question types found in the MoR Practitioner certification exam. It also outlines how to navigate the rest of the course and the use of the scenario later on.

Module 4: The Strategic Perspective

Engage in a scenario-based test situation applying MoR from different perspectives. This module concludes with a 20-mark exam, asking students to consider the scenario from a strategic viewpoint.

Module 5: The Programme Perspective

Shift focus to the Program Perspective, exploring the realistic application of MoR from this viewpoint. This module also concludes with a 20-mark exam.

Module 6: The Project Perspective

Switch to the Project Perspective, examining the practical application of MoR from this angle. The module ends with a 20-mark exam.

Module 7: The Operational Perspective

Address the final perspective of MoR, the Operational Perspective. This module covers the realistic application of MoR from this viewpoint before concluding with a 20-mark exam.

Module 8: MoR Practitioner Wrap-up

Summarise all the key points covered throughout the course. Students are advised to revisit previous modules to ensure thorough familiarity with the course material before attempting the official exam.

Exam Information

This training is structured to comprehensively prepare participants to undertake and pass the Management of Risk (MoR) Foundation and Practitioner certification examination. There are no entry requirements to sit the Foundation exam. Candidates for the Practitioner exam must have passed the Foundation level.

Included in this course are several practice exams to assist students in getting ready for the actual exam, along with complimentary exam vouchers. (Terms and conditions apply)

Before you schedule your exam, it’s advisable to check if your device meets the necessary technical standards. For additional details and support, please consult the PeopleCert website.

While voucher requests are generally processed within two business days, it’s wise to allow for up to five days. Vouchers need to be requested within the access period of the course, starting from the purchase date.

Management of Risk (MoR®) Foundation exam

  • This is a multiple choice exam consisting of 75 questions (5 questions are ‘trial questions’ which do not contribute to the overall score)
  • There is a time limit of 60 minutes to complete the exam
  • The exam is closed book, with only the provided materials being permitted for use
  • The pass mark for the exam is 50%: you must get 35 out of 70 questions correct

Management of Risk (MoR®) Practitioner exam

  • The exam features objective testing
  • There are four questions per paper, with 20 marks available per question
  • Students must score at least 40 marks to pass (50%)
  • The exam lasts three hours (180 minutes)
  • The exam is open-book. Candidates may use the official printed hard copy of the ‘Management of Risk: Guidance for Practitioners’ guide. The ‘ABC Guide Part A Example Techniques’ guidance document is also allowed. The manual may be annotated and tabulated, but no sticky notes and loose-leaf papers containing additional notes will be allowed
