Training FAQ

Course Delivery and Format

What are the different training delivery options available?

EA Learning provides a range of courses, delivered in various formats including virtual classrooms, in-person classrooms, and self-paced eLearning. Public in-person and virtual classroom sessions are regularly scheduled and open for registration to individuals from any organisation. Additionally, private classes can be arranged in either format exclusively for your organisation upon request.

What is the difference between public and private training?

Public training offers open enrolment to scheduled and advertised classes, allowing participants from various organisations to join. In contrast, private classes are conducted exclusively for a specific organisation or group, with flexibility in delivery format and preferred dates. These sessions involve a comprehensive process with EA Learning, including pre-course discussions between the instructor and the client to ensure relevant context is provided and a post-course debrief with an EA Learning representative, leading to a more detailed, hands-on, and focused learning experience. For more information on private classes, please visit our Private In-House Training page.

How long is the typical training duration for each delivery format?

Instructor-led Courses (Virtual Classroom / In-Person Classroom)
Instructor-led courses, whether in-person or virtual, typically span 1 to 4 days, with each day running from 9 AM to 5 PM in the local time zone listed. Each day includes at least three scheduled breaks: one in the morning, one at lunch, and one in the afternoon.

Self-Paced eLearning Courses
Our eLearning courses vary in length, ranging from 1 hour to over 50 hours of content, with up to 12 months of access to complete the course.

Can the training content be customised for my organisation's specific needs?

When your organisation secures a private class with EA Learning, we nominate one of our Instructors to train your team. Our instructor will meet with you prior to the class taking place to help them better understand your organisations learning goals, current challenges, upcoming projects, and specific needs. This allows them to deliver training that aligns with your specific context and incorporates this information, while also offering valuable advice on additional learning pathways. If you require additional customisation beyond this, we recommend contacting a member of our EA Learning team to explore suitable options.

Do you offer group or course discounts?

EA Learning aim to support organisations and their teams throughout their learning journey. To discuss bulk orders, multi-course options, or group discounts, please send an enquiry to connect with one of our EA Learning team members. Additionally, we always have a range of classes with discounts applied. You can view our Offers for information on limited time discounts and course bundles.

When will I receive details regarding the training venue / virtual classroom?

After registering for one of our public classes, you will receive a confirmation email that includes details about the course, class dates, and start and finish times. Once the class is confirmed (typically 2-4 weeks prior to the course commencing), you will receive an email containing further information on the course, including the course material portal information, the Zoom link (Virtual Classroom only), what to bring, pre-reading material and more.

Why hold a private class with EA Learning?

Our mission is to provide industry leading training and certifications to Business & IT Architects and Transformation professionals. By holding a private class for your organisation, you can empower your team with impactful training that drives business results and achieves meaningful, sustainable growth, while supporting them in their career development and effectiveness in their roles. Choose private training for a highly effective, personalised learning experience.

Unique & Individual Approach

We are committed to providing professional business training solutions to meet the desired outcomes of our clients. We understand that each organisation has unique challenges and requirements. We spend time working closely with our clients to identify their needs, design an effective learning pathway and ensure the learning experiences we provide meet their goals and objectives.

Pre- and Post-class consultation

Before each private class, our EA Learning client executive and learning facilitator consults with your representatives to learn about your specific challenges and needs. These discussions will enable us to provide training specifically relevant to your organisation. After the class is completed, a post class meeting will take place with our client executive and your representatives to debrief and provide feedback and insights.

Your choice of delivery mode

We can adapt to your circumstances and needs by offering classes delivered: face to face in your classroom or in one provided by ourselves; virtually over the internet; or as a hybrid.

Instructors around the world

Our instructors are based around the world, therefore we can offer classes to suit your organisation's time zone requirements. This includes class start, finish and break times that will work best for your team, whilst aligning with the format of the course.

Contextualisation

On request, EA Learning can provide contextualised training classes which are configured to provide additional context, supplement or replace our practical exercises with topical scenarios, example problems and solutions relevant to your organisation. If required, we can engage instructional design experts when needed to translate your goals and objectives into a course or learning programme that meets your requirements. Typically, this will involve an upfront consultation exercise.

Learning Pathways

For organisations looking to establish a structured professional development program for team members with varied skill sets, we have a range of courses that can be delivered as standalone private training classes, as part of a wider series of training events or a combination of Instructor-led training and self-paced eLearning courses. We can collaborate with you to tailor a customised learning pathway that aligns with your unique needs and objectives. Together, we can work to ensure your team has the right training and professional development to enable them to be effective in their roles and help maximise the value they are able to bring to your organisation. We can also offer corporate bundle discounts.

What are some additional benefits of holding a private class?

Bringing your team together virtually

Choosing to have a private class delivered in virtual-classroom mode further enhances our opportunity to bring together teams that are spread over large distances and/or separated by circumstance.

Enhancing collaboration and team capabilities

A private class brings your team together in a collegiate, collaborative yet structured space, enhancing mutual understanding and raising your team to a common knowledge and skills baseline. It has the additional benefit of creating highly effective cross-functional teams. By collaborating, using co-sensing skills and learning together, they bond as a team. Further, the motivational aspects of learning as a team and the shared purpose of making an impact, drives remarkable results.

Consistency and continuity

Private classes held in series enhance adoption of consistent methods and language across teams and whole organisations giving greater continuity across projects. We often train many professionals from individual organisations over several courses, sometimes periodically over time. As our instructors get to know your organisation and its challenges, they can offer increasingly relevant and valuable insights and guidance.

Keep Up with Industry Changes and Understand the Latest Developments

Industries are constantly changing and so it is important for your organisation to develop to avoid being left behind. Regular training needs to take place to ensure that your staff are using all the latest technology, tools and techniques comfortably and to their full potential.

Course Content and Certification

Is there any pre-reading or studying to complete before the course?

No pre-reading is required before attending our classes. Once an instructor-led class is confirmed, usually 2-4 weeks prior to the start date, EA Learning provides participants with access to the course materials. While participants are welcome to review these materials beforehand, it is not necessary, as our instructor-led courses are designed for guided, in-class learning rather than self-paced study.

What level of expertise is required for these courses and certifications?

Our courses cater to a range of experience levels, from those new to the field to experienced practitioners looking to enhance their skills. As we aim to empower Enterprise, Business and IT Architects and Business Transformation professionals, a foundational understanding of business transformation concepts would be beneficial. If a course has any prerequisites, they are listed under the “Who should attend” section on each course page.

Are there prerequisites for the courses?

Most EA Learning courses have no prerequisites, but prior knowledge of Enterprise Architecture is advantageous. To see if a course has any prerequisites, such as TOGAF EA Practitioner Bridge, you will find specific information under the “Who should attend” section.

Are certifications provided upon the completion of the courses?

Certifications are obtained by completing a course with EA Learning and then passing the relevant exam(s). By completing an instructor-led course with EA Learning, you will receive a certificate of attendance. View the course pages for specific information on certifications.

What is the exam format for certification?

Exam formats can vary depending on the course. For detailed information about the exam format for a specific course, please refer to the course page related to the course you're interested in or speak with one of our team members for more information.

I need to cancel my registration or defer my training to a later date, is this possible?

Yes, if you notify EA Learning more than 4 weeks before the course begins, you can cancel or defer your training without penalty. For deferrals made 2-4 weeks before the start date, a late deferral fee will apply. Up to 1 week before the course begins, you may nominate a substitute attendee; otherwise, cancellation will result in the forfeiture of payments due. For more information, please refer to our Terms and Conditions of bookings.
